It's Friday and we're back in civilization. Three days in Yellowstone with no internet..........now that's roughing it ladies and gentlemen.
Yellowstone was really interesting with all the geothermal activity and the wildlife.
Leaving Yellowstone today was "an experience". Heading south out of the park, just outside the gate we hit some road construction, There was no pavement, just hard packed dirt and some gravel. Just to make it a little more interesting for those of us on motorcycles they wet down the road surface giving it a nice slick layer of mud. I'm here to tell you it was slicker than snot! It gets real exciting when the 900 lb cycle your riding starts to fishtail in the mud and ruts. It lasted about five miles but seemed like fifty! When it was over it felt like I had been rode hard and put away wet! I never saw so much mud on a bike that was not intended for off road use. If I knew that was coming I would have bought a set of Knobby tires. Picture that, a Goldwing with Knobbies! I'm really glad I wasn't on the Hoss.
The Grand Tetons were just that........GRAND! They are magnificant.
In Jackson we had lunch at the "Million Dollar Cowboy Bar". It was really something. All of the bar stools are saddles....complete with stirrups in case you get a bit tipsy you won't fall off!
We're in Evanston, WY tonight, right back where we were on the first night of our journey. Two more days and we'll be back to reality, the good lord willing and the creek don't rise.
Ron's hard at work uploading all the pics, videos and maps from the last three days. We hope you enjoy them as much as we did taking them.

Looking Back Over The Past Week
It's been a great ride so far. We have seen a lot of new country and many different landscapes. It has been interesting to see the different ways people live. Many towns, or wide spots in the road, we went through had two and three digit population numbers, even one single digit. We always wondered what those people did for a living. We figure many of them worked the many ranches as well as the coal mines.
I do need to relate what became a funny story that happened in Custer State Park. We had stopped by the side of the road to photograph a herd of about 100+ buffalo. We parked on the right side of the road and there was a young boy riding his bicycle with a fishing pole on the left side of the road. As the boy came past us a big bull saw him and took off after him! I have never seen a kid pedal a bike that fast before. The bull was running across the road after him. We were not in much of a position to help the kid but a guy in a pickup truck stopped in the road and started backing up toward the bull. It was enough of a distraction to take the bulls attention off of the boy. The bull just went into the grass on the left side of the road. At that point it became funny when all was well. A few hundred feet down the road we saw what we first thought was buffalo dung in the middle of the road but decided the young boy had just crapped his pants! We saw the boy and we gave him a "thumbs up" and he smiled back. I suspect he called his parents to come get him from the pond, not wanting to ride his bike back past the buffalo again. By the way, a buffalo can run 35 mph so trying to outrun one is not an option. You can see a bit of the action in one of the videos from Custer.
Mount Rushmore was impressive but I was really impressed with the Crazy Horse Monument. It is quite an undertaking and I only wish I could live to see it completed.
Sturgis was a disappointment. There are a couple of bars and gift shops. I guess if your into drinking it's okay. I suspoect it's quite different during the rally but I would not like the crowds.
Deadwood was neat with a lot of western history. After hearing how Buffalo Bill was killed I will not sit with my back to the door anymore, LOL!
Little Big Horn was very interesting. Custer screwed the pooch and let his ego get the best of him, in my humble opinion.
We are in Cody, WY tonight. We rode in from Sheridan / Little Big Horn. We hit a thunderstorm about 15 miles out of Cody. We got a little damp but the plus was it cleaned the bugs off the bikes. Saved us a trip to the car wash.....more grasshoppers! If I never see another grasshopper I'll die a happy man!
Tomorrow we are going to a museum here in Cody in the morning the on to Yellowstone in the afternoon.
